Editor;
On Friday August 1st a relatively short letter-to-the-editor appeared in the Owen Sound Sun-Times, entitled "Ontario making good progress with wind energy." In this letter, Brandy Giannetta, the Ontario Regional Director of CANWEA (Canadian Wind Energy Association ) quotes the IESO (Independent Systems Operator of Ontario) as follows: "...wind energy as an effective tool in managing the province's electricity system."
To all residents of Georgian Bluffs and Chatsworth,
This past Friday evening, friends of ours from southern Ontario rolled up our driveway with their camper. Hoping to begin a stress-free weekend with friends, it took me two seconds to realize this would not be. What better way to be greeted to beautiful Georgian Bluffs than the foul odor wafting from that failed experiment on the sideroad (the bio-digester) that our councils (Georgian Bluffs and Chatsworth) continue to blindly throw our tax dollars at.
Just an update - thanks to all who helped promote the event with coverage this week!
Thanks to the support of local businesses and the community, over $5000 was raised for the Johnson family through the United Way fire fund at cookie and lemonade sales this weekend, through sales and in-person donations.
Dear Mayor Pringle:
I am writing to point out to you, again, that you have an obligation to be completely open and honest with Chatsworth taxpayers about the bio-digester.
The insert in the tax notice distributed recently to every taxpayer in Chatsworth says (in three places) that raw septage is spread on "farm fields," but this is not true. By repeating this falsehood again and again, it looks as though you are attempting to mislead taxpayers so as to minimize very real issues with the bio-digester having to do with viability and costs.
Editor:
I was reviewing the web site. It looks great but I have a concern about the court news. You listed the court appearances including civil, criminal and family court. In those are included case and settlement conferences which are really just a step in the process towards trial. However there may not be a trial.
In the case of family court I see no reason for this to be posted on your site. Even though this is a public document I fail to see why listing family law appearances (mainly custody and divorce issues) of families in our area should be "news". Having just been through a very long a difficult divorce I would not want my children to have seen our names there.
You need to reconsider this.

Editor's note: Point taken. We will remove family law appearances from the docket.
