WHAT: Owen Sound Campus students take part in Shinerama, an annual fundraising event for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. They will be shining shoes, cars, and "anything that can be shined" in return for donations at two locations.

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

* 9 a.m. - opening event and poster making, Owen Sound Campus

* 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - students head to Boston Pizza and Shoppers Drug Mart (downtown) for car wash activities.

police-os-regularOfficers from the Owen Sound Police Service successfully apprehended a third suspect wanted for numerous offences related to vehicle thefts in the region.

On Friday September 5th, 2014 two people were arrested near a west side housing complex. The wanted man fled on foot and eluded a search by Owen Sound OPP officers.

On Monday September 8th, 2014 at approximately 12:20 pm, the wanted man was spotted in an east side parking lot. As police moved in to arrest him he again fled on foot. A foot chase ensued and officers who had been positioned in the area converged on the wanted man.

stop-regBRUCE TOWNSHIP – On September 7, 2014 at 7:50 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of missing stop signs along Side road 20 in Bruce Township. Officers checked the area and found that stop signs were removed from three intersections: Side road 20 and Concession 6, Side road 20 and Concession 8, Side road 20 and Concession 10, Bruce Township.

(OWEN SOUND) Owen Sound City Police located the parties involved in a theft of a pickup truck in the Nicolls Gulley area of Owen Sound around 1:00p.m on September 5, 2014. The parties and the truck had been involved in a flight from Police incident in the Bruce Peninsula earlier on that date. Two persons were arrested, one a 15 year old female, and the other a 19 year old male. Outstanding is an 18 year old male who was the subject of an intensive search by Owen Sound City Police, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police, Grey County Provincial Police Canine Unit and Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) requests any assistance from the public regarding the location of this male.

opp-car-regularWIARTON - The Bruce Peninsula OPP was advised of a suspicious vehicle and three persons pushing it in the Taylor Street and Elm Street area of Wiarton shortly after seven in the morning on September 5, 2014.

Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle, a black 2008 GMC Sierra pickup, plated 732 5WR at the local gas station. Police attempted to stop the vehicle after it left the gas station. The vehicle would not stop and Police engaged in a motor vehicle pursuit north of Wiarton on highway 6.
