The SweetWater Music Festival’s multifaceted, multi-platform music experience SweetWater Surreal continues. After the great success of Surreal Live in September, SweetWater presents a second act of live music this Friday at 8 p.m. at Heartwood Hall in Owen Sound, SweetWater Surreal Live 2: Measha Jazz. The concert features world-renowned vocalist Measha Bruggergosman and her trio. And for the first time ever, SweetWater will offer a concert as a livestream.
“It gives me great pleasure to be able to present Measha Brueggergosman as part of SweetWater’s music programme in 2020. Measha has an incredibly rare artistic personality that jumps in between genres with tremendous ease. Her profound love for the music that she sings makes for a stunning show. Please join us, live, or from the comfort of your home,” says SweetWater Artistic Director Edwin Huizinga.
Brueggergosman will be joined by keyboardist Aaron Davis, guitarist Rob Piltch, and bassist George Koller. The evening will feature jazz but also get a mix of classical, blues, gospel, funk, and francophone folk and '70s easy listening.
The exclusive live concert sold out in less than a week (only 50 tickets available due to COVID-19 restrictions). For those unable to attend, SweetWater is offering a chance to experience the concert through a livestream at 8 p.m. Eastern. Tickets are $10 and available via sessions.com/Measha/tickets.
SweetWater is complying with all current health and safety guidelines related to COVID-19. Event attendance is limited to 50 people and physical distancing and face masks will be part of the safety measures at the concert.
SweetWater Surreal continues this fall and into early 2021 with additional online, virtual music opportunities. Watch for new episodes of Front Row offering up and close and personal opportunities to hear about a performer’s life and career as well a short performance sequence. It features performers originally scheduled to perform at the 17th Festival (postponed until 2021). Later this year, highlights of the Surreal Live concerts from September will also be available to enjoy online.
