Attention young filmmakers!

The libraries of Bruce and Grey counties want your films for the return of the Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival. Submission deadline is May 12 with a screening of the selected films at the Owen Sound Galaxy Cinemas in June.

Enter for a chance to have your film included in this year’s Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival screening, and to win cash prizes.

filmSelected films will be screened at a festival event at the Galaxy Cinema in Owen Sound in June. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced after the screening.

Films from the Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival will air on Wightman TV Channel 6 in southern Bruce and Grey Counties and on Rogers TV Grey County Channel 53 in Owen Sound and the surrounding area. Films may also be selected for inclusion at the Meaford International Film Festival.

Short animated or live action films of a maximum of 10 minutes in length from students in Grades 7 through 12, living in Grey or Bruce County are eligible.

Application forms can be found at all participating public libraries or downloaded here. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 12.

The 2023 Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival is organized by the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, with the participation and sponsorship of Galaxy Cinemas, Richard Thomas Communications, Wightman, Rogers TV Grey Bruce, the Meaford International Film Festival, Bruce County Public Library, Grey Highlands Public Library, Hanover Public Library, Meaford Public Library, Southgate Public Library and West Grey Public Library.
