Since before I was old enough to vote I was always advised that the best strategy, and sound political conscience, would have me vote for the candidate that I felt would best represent me.

In more than four decades I have always voted for the Liberal candidate, except for that one time in 1990 when I voted for the NDP candidate in the provincial election, and many of us will remember what happened then.

I will not be voting Liberal this time. I will not support a quitter or anyone who does.

Regardless of political affiliation, I would urge voters to consider the potential impact of electing an Ontario Premier that, childishly, threatens to quit their position if they don’t get their way. In mid-October, Steven Del Duca stated… unequivocally… that if a ranked ballot system was not in place for the subsequent Ontario provincial election, he would resign. Quit.

I won’t support a quitter… a person that boastfully and with forethought threatens to quit if they don’t get their own way.

Someone who has experienced challenges in their life and seen the same and similar challenges in the lives of others, someone who didn’t quit and has worked to better their own circumstance and worked to better the circumstances of others, should know better than to support a quitter. The quitter is uninspiring and can’t be counted on when things become difficult or when their whims go unsatisfied.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound would be well served to not support those who support quitters. Steven Del Duca is a self-described quitter. That is why I’m not voting for Selwyn Hicks.
