The Owen Sound City Band, directed by Julia Richards, invites current and former players, fans, and their families to drop by anytime after 5pm. Come say hello, share your photos and stories, observe some of the Band's photos and other memorabilia from several past decades; to meet old friends and chat. Feel free to bring your own picnic supper (and cutlery, dishes, etc., to minimize waste) and enjoy some Pizza and refreshments, even a Centennial Cake, at the picnic shelter in beautiful Harrison Park on Monday July 25.Reunion and Picnic at picnic shelter 5pm to 7pm followed by 7:30pm Concert for the public at the Bandshell.
Formed by City Council on July 20, 1920, the City Band, after two years of pandemic, is now celebrating 100+2 years of serving the Scenic City, with Monday evening concerts at Harrison Park, starting at 7:30pm July 25, and at 7:15 on August 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Last Monday, July 18, Mayor Boddy brought greetings from the City and congratulations on the long time dedication of members of the Owen Sound City Band. New photos of the Band were also taken by good friend Don Sankey.
