This spring, The Roxy Star Company was born!

This theatre arts program created a new opportunity for adults living with complex needs, including intellectual, developmental or physical disabilities.

“We are grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the funding that has allowed us to create this terrific and inclusive theatre program that will serve a segment of our population that is currently under-represented in the arts.” said Marcia Cunningham, executive director of the Owen Sound Light Theatre (OSLT) and the Roxy.

After weeks of hard work and fun, The Roxy Star Company is proud to present their first show Imagine on Thursday, June 29, at the Roxy Theatre.

Performances include singing, dancing, rhythmic gymnastics and acting scene work.

“Our hope has always been to show the audience that everyone deserves the chance to create performance art” said Star company coordinator Lacey Mooney.

“This amazing group of people inspires us all to be more inclusive and accepting. They inspire us all to be better and do better.”

Tickets are $15 and are available at the Roxy Box office or online.
