Bruce Grey Child and Family Services (BGCFS) will be hosting a one-day Foster Parent and Volunteers recruiting event on Wednesday, July 12, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, in Owen Sound at Harrison Park's Picnic Pavilion.

This event offers the community an opportunity to learn about how they may be able to support children, youth and families in Grey and Bruce counties as well as ask any questions they may have.

BGCFS is recruiting Foster Caregivers, and respite Foster Caregivers. In 2023-24 we have an additional focus on recruiting for foster homes that can care and help care for complex youth.

As Executive Director Julie Lipsett states: “more and more we see that the children and youth who enter care have special and complex needs. The special relationship and skills of their caregivers provides these children and youth with the opportunity to have more successful outcomes during their time in care and, hopefully, repatriate home. It is our mission to ensure that children remain in Grey and Bruce counties, close to their family and supports, while they are enveloped with the services they need. This project will help us in that mission.”

For more information about fostering or volunteering please contact inquiries@bgcfs.ca or call 519.372.2526 and ask to speak with a screener.
