Liberation Spring FlyerThe Billy Bishop Home & Museum is now open to the public Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

A few changes have been implemented as part of the Phase 2 reopening, including limiting the amount of people in the museum, cleaning measures and procedures for visitors. One of the requirements is for visitors to reserve a time to view the Bishop Home and exhibits.

A new exhibit on display ‘Liberation Spring: 75 Years of Peace’, highlights the Canadian effort to achieve victory in the Netherlands and this ambitious exhibit is a curatorial collaboration lead by a group of grade 12 history students from Owen Sound District Secondary School. These students approached a number of community members to ascertain their thoughts on peace 75 years after the Liberation of the Netherlands and the end of the Second World War.

Very popular and well attended summer events will still go on, but with some changes. Sunday night Ghost Walks will begin on July 12 at 8 p.m. This event is for ages 12+, maximum of 10 people allowed and the cost is $10 per person. Guests are required to reserve their spot in advance and to wear comfortable shoes for the 4km walk.

Bringing the Tea to You! The museum is unable to host their annual summer Victorian Tea in July, but they are still offering a ‘Tea for 2’ to enjoy at home. Each order contains: 1 bag of Billy’s Blend Tea, 2 cups/saucers, with 2 scones & 2 desserts supplied by the Best Western Inn on the Bay. Each order will cost the same as a purchased ticket to the event, $25.00 for non-members, and $20.00 for members. Payment is required when the order is placed. Order deadline is Thursday July 23rd, and pick up is Friday July 31st.

Museum Explorers Children’s Summer Camp will run from July 20th to 24th. Due to current restrictions, space is very limited and each child must register for the whole week. The camp is for ages 5 to 12, and the cost is $120.00 per child. Please contact the museum curator Emily Jolliffe, or visit our website for more information, and to upload the registration form.

Contact the museum at 519-371-0031, or email info@billybishop.org to reserve a time to visit, reserve a spot for the Sunday night Ghost Walk, order to take home a ‘Tea for 2’, or register your child for camp.
