Following a two year covid absence, the Owen Sound based Outdoors Adventures club has announced the return of its popular annual Kids Fishing Day. The event is set for Saturday, May 14, 2022 and will again, be held at the Murdoch Bognor Village Ranch.
The club is now accepting registrations for up to 60 youngsters, ages 4 to 12 years.“Traditionally, the event hosts 120 kids, but we decided on a smaller crowd, due to ongoing covid concerns,” said Arnie Clark, club President. “It’s a free event for the kids,” he said. “There’s prizes for all the participants, plus they will experience fishing for rainbow trout in the Murdoch pond stocked specifically for the day.”
Clark also noted a complimentary BBQ luncheon and refreshments are provided. Trout catches are cleaned and ice-packed. Bait is provided along with loaner fishing rod and reel sets for those who don’t have such gear. Conservation Officers have been invited to interact with the crowd and there is adult supervision. Parents and guardians are reminded to bring cameras to capture those exciting fishing moments.
