Larry Miller, Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is encouraging all interested individuals and organizations to participate in the recently announced consultation on Canada's system of Employment Insurance (EI).
Recently, the Federal Government announced that over the course of the summer it would open up a consultation process to review the quality of service that Canadians are receiving when it comes to EI as part of a review of the EI program as a whole. The review will examine how Service Canada administers the EI program. It will focus on three key areas which include:
1. Streamlining applications
2. Reducing wait times for service delivery
3. Reducing administrative burden for employers
"My office deals with a number of cases surrounding Employment Insurance on a daily basis," said Miller. "I strongly encourage all interested individuals and organizations to provide their feedback on the EI program through this consultation. Furthermore, those who may be struggling to receive the services they need should contact my office."
The consultation process will be open until August 31st, 2016. A summary report of the feedback received during this time will be released in fall 2016. Those interested in participating may submit their views on the online consultation portal athttps://hrsdc-rhdcc.sondages-surveys.ca/s/employment-insurance_assurance-emploi/?l=en or send their feedback by e-mail to consultation@servicecanada.gc.ca.
